Terms of use
The rules for using savmarketing.ca. These cover the website itself — campaigns and partnerships are agreed separately, in writing.

01Accepting these terms
By using savmarketing.ca you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site. We may update them as the site changes; the date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
02What this website is for
This site explains Sav Marketing's convenience retail media network: the stores in it, the advertising placements available, how campaigns work, and how store owners can join. It exists to inform you and to let you start a conversation with us.
It is not a booking system, a checkout, or a live inventory system. Submitting a form starts a discussion; it does not reserve anything.
03Who can use it
The site is intended for businesses and for people acting on behalf of a business. If you contact us on behalf of a company, you're confirming you're allowed to do that.
04Using the site
You may browse the site, read and share our articles, and use the forms to contact us. Please don't:
- Use the site for anything unlawful, or to send us unlawful, deceptive or abusive content.
- Try to break, overload, probe or gain unauthorized access to the site or anything connected to it.
- Scrape or bulk-copy the site's content, including the store data behind the network map, for a competing service or a database.
- Misrepresent who you are, or submit someone else's personal information without their knowledge.
- Remove or obscure any notice of ownership on material you're permitted to use.
05Our content and brand
The design, text, illustrations, photography, code and layout of this site belong to Sav Marketing or to the people we licensed them from, and are protected by copyright and other laws. The Sav name, logo, sparkle mark and related branding are ours.
You may quote short extracts from our articles with credit and a link. You may not copy the site's design or code, or use our branding to suggest a partnership or endorsement that doesn't exist. Third-party names, logos and screenshots shown on this site — including partner stores and work by Silvanè Studios — belong to their respective owners.
06What you send us
When you send us a campaign brief, an application or a message, you keep ownership of it. You give us permission to use it for the purpose you sent it for — replying, preparing a proposal, assessing a store. How we handle personal information is set out in the privacy policy.
You're responsible for what you send. Please only send material you have the right to send, and don't include confidential information belonging to someone else. If you send us creative or artwork for a campaign, you'll be confirming that you own it or are licensed to use it — that gets dealt with properly in the campaign agreement.
07The campaign builder and proposals
The campaign builder is a way of describing what you want. Choosing stores, placements, a duration or a budget range does not book, hold or reserve anything, and it isn't a quote.
- Availability of a store, a surface or a date is confirmed by us in writing, not by the form.
- Pricing is confirmed in a written proposal. Package pages describe what's included, not a final price.
- A campaign exists once we've both agreed it in writing.
08Estimates, reach and reporting
This is worth being precise about, because advertising numbers are easy to overstate.
- Estimated impressions are estimates
- Where we show or report estimated impressions, they are planning figures derived from available store traffic and placement information. They are not a count of people who looked at an advertisement, and they are not guaranteed. No technology on our placements measures individual eyeballs, and we don't claim otherwise.
- Example figures are labelled
- Any planning tool or sample report on this site that uses illustrative numbers says so on the page. Don't rely on them as figures for your own campaign; your proposal carries the current figures for the stores you choose.
- Measured actions are measured
- QR scans, short-link visits and promo-code redemptions are counted, and we report them as counts. They tell you a code was scanned or redeemed — they don't capture everyone who saw the ad, and they aren't the same thing as sales attributable to the campaign.
- Store traffic comes from the retailer
- Where traffic information is used, it comes from the participating store. We pass on what we're given and describe how a figure was produced when we use it.
We are still documenting a formal methodology for estimated impressions. Until that is published, treat any impression figure as an estimate whose basis we will explain on request.
09Store and network information
The network map and location pages show stores that participate in the Sav Network, with addresses taken from the retailer's own information. Map pins are placed from those addresses; where a pin shows the block rather than the exact storefront, the location page says so.
The network changes. Stores join and occasionally leave, and a particular surface in a particular store may not be available when you ask for it. We keep this site current as best we can, but what's shown here is a description of the network, not a guarantee that a specific store or placement is available today.
10Advertising we won't run
Our placements sit inside real neighbourhood stores, and our retail partners set standards for what appears in their space. We therefore reserve the right to decline or remove any campaign, at our discretion, including advertising that:
- Is unlawful, or promotes unlawful products, services or activity.
- Is false, deceptive or misleading, or can't be substantiated.
- Promotes hatred or discrimination against a person or group, or is otherwise degrading.
- Is sexually explicit, gratuitously violent, or otherwise unsuitable for a general-audience retail environment where children are present.
- Infringes someone else's intellectual property or other rights.
- Is fraudulent, a scam, or designed to mislead people about who is advertising.
- Is subject to regulatory restrictions we are not set up to meet, or that a participating store has asked us not to carry.
Declining a campaign on these grounds isn't a judgement about your business, and we'll say plainly why. The detailed content standards that apply to a booked campaign will be part of the campaign agreement.
11Third-party services and links
The site uses a small number of third-party services to work — hosting and map imagery — and links out to other websites, including our retail partners, Silvanè Studios and social media. We don't control those services or sites and aren't responsible for their content or practices. Website services offered through Sav are designed and built by Silvanè Studios; see the websites page.
12Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of this site at any time, including articles, pages and the map. We try to keep the site up but don't promise it will always be available or error-free.
13Disclaimer
The website and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we don't make warranties of any kind about the site — including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the information on it is complete or current at any given moment.
The articles in the Sav Playbook are general information about advertising and marketing. They aren't legal, financial, accounting or professional advice, and they aren't a promise of results.
14Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Sav Marketing is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from your use of this website, including lost profits or lost business opportunity, even if we were told such losses were possible.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. These website terms don't limit or replace whatever liability terms we agree in a signed campaign or partnership agreement — those agreements govern that relationship.
15Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute about this website.
