Privacy policy
How Sav Marketing handles personal information on this website — written to match what the site actually does, not what a template says.

01The short version
The rest of this page explains that in detail, including the two service providers involved in delivering the site and what they can see. If anything here is unclear, write to us at hello@savmarketing.ca.
02Who this policy covers
This policy covers savmarketing.ca, the public website of Sav Marketing — Ontario's growing convenience retail media network. We sell advertising placements inside convenience stores, and we work with store owners who join the network.
It does not cover: the separate agreements we sign with advertisers or retail partners; the websites of other companies we link to; or the individual stores in our network, which are operated by their own owners and have their own practices.
03Information you give us
Everything in this section is information you choose to type into a form or an email. There are no hidden fields and no profiling.

04How our forms actually work
This is unusual enough to be worth spelling out. Our forms have no backend. When you reach the end of a form and choose to send it, the site assembles what you typed into a pre-filled email and opens it in your own email application. Nothing is transmitted anywhere until you press send in that application, and you can edit or discard the message first.
- Before you send: what you typed exists only in your browser's memory. Close the tab and it is gone. It is not saved to your device and not sent to us.
- When you send: the message travels from your email provider to our email provider as ordinary email.
- After that: we hold it in our email account and use it to reply, prepare a proposal, or assess a store application.
One practical consequence: because ordinary email is involved, please don't send us anything highly sensitive — financial account details, government identifiers, or health information. We never ask for those.
05Information collected automatically
We do not run analytics on this website. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no heatmap or session-recording tool, and no advertising tag. We verified this against the site's code and against the live site.
Two things still happen automatically, because they are how any website reaches you:
- Hosting logs
- Our hosting provider, Vercel, receives the requests your browser makes in order to serve the pages. As part of normal operation and security, that involves technical information such as your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser and device type. We do not use this to identify you or to build a profile, and we do not combine it with anything you send us.
- Map tiles
- On pages with the network map, your browser loads map imagery directly from OpenFreeMap, which is built on OpenStreetMap data. That request comes from your browser, so that provider can see your IP address and which map tiles you loaded. The map only loads on pages that show one, and only once you scroll near it.
Fonts are served from this website itself rather than a third-party font service, so no font provider sees your visit.
06How we use your information
We use what you send us for the purpose you sent it for:
- To reply to your message or question.
- To prepare a written campaign proposal, including pricing for the stores, placements and dates you asked about.
- To review a store-owner application, discuss terms and, if we both go ahead, set your location up in the network.
- To scope a website project through our digital experience partner, when you ask for one.
- To keep records of enquiries and the agreements that come out of them, as any business does.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertisers as data, and we do not use it to target advertising at you.
07Marketing emails
This website has no newsletter signup and no mailing list. Filling in a form here does not subscribe you to anything.
If you contact us, we will reply about your enquiry — that is a response, not marketing. If we later start sending commercial email such as network updates or promotions, we will ask for consent as required by Canada's anti-spam legislation, identify ourselves clearly, and include a working unsubscribe link in every message. You can tell us at any time that you don't want commercial email from us by writing to hello@savmarketing.ca.
09Website services and Silvanè Studios
Sav offers website design and development, and those projects are designed and built by Silvanè Studios, our digital experience partner. We say so openly on the websites page.
If you ask us about a website — through the campaign builder's website path, or by email — we will share the details of your enquiry with Silvanè Studios so they can scope and quote the work. Only what is needed for that purpose is shared. If you would rather we did not pass your enquiry on, tell us and we will handle it ourselves.
The websites page also links out to Silvanè's own site. Once you follow that link you are on their website, under their privacy practices, not ours.
10Processing outside Canada
Sav Marketing operates in Ontario, Canada. Some of the providers above operate infrastructure outside Canada, which means information handled by them may be stored or processed in another country — most commonly the United States. While it is in another country, it may be accessible to the courts and law enforcement of that country under that country's laws.
We would rather say that plainly than promise that your information never leaves Canada, which we cannot currently guarantee.
11How long we keep things
Because our forms hand off to email, what we hold is essentially correspondence. We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to answer you, to prepare and follow up on a proposal, and to keep reasonable business records — and we keep records relating to signed campaigns and partnerships for as long as we are required to for tax and accounting purposes.
We have not yet set fixed retention periods for each category of enquiry, and we would rather tell you that than publish a schedule we don't actually follow. If you would like us to delete an enquiry you sent, ask us and we will, unless we are required to keep it.
12Keeping information safe
The website is served over HTTPS, holds no database of visitor information, and stores nothing in your browser. That means there is very little on our side to breach: the main place your information lives is our email account.
We protect that with the security controls our email provider offers and by limiting access to the people who need it. No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, so we won't claim otherwise — email in particular is not a secure channel for sensitive material.
13Access, correction and questions
Under Canadian privacy law you can generally ask an organization what personal information it holds about you, ask for corrections if it is wrong, and withdraw consent where consent is what allows us to use it — subject to legal and contractual limits.
To make any of those requests, or to raise a concern, email hello@savmarketing.ca and tell us what you need. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to confirm who you are first. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy concern, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
14Children
This is a business-to-business website. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
15Links to other websites
We link to other websites — our retail partners, Silvanè Studios, projects we reference in the Sav Playbook, and social media. We don't control those sites and this policy doesn't apply to them.
16Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the website changes — in particular if we ever add analytics, accounts, payments or a client dashboard, each of which would mean handling more information than we do today. The date at the top of this page always shows when it last changed.
